Ist Bargeld so wichtig? Was ist das eigentlich?

Begriff: FIAT Währung

In der aktuellen Lage COVID-19, wird das Thema der Notwendigkeit von Bargeld wieder heftig diskutiert. Man unterstellt, das Bargeld, ob der vielen Hände durch die es geht, als Krankheitsüberträger eine Belastung und zusätzliche Gefahr darstellt. Es gibt ebenso vieleVerfechter dieser Aussage, als auch Gegner.

Für mich persönlich kann ich sagen, dass ich nicht so sehr am Bargeld hänge, weil ich überwiegend kontaktlos zahle und mir das einen großen Komfort bietet. Auch heute schon versuche ich, wo es geht ohne Bargeld zu bezahlen und auch aus diesem Grund habe ich mich bewusst für eine Hausbank entschiede, die eine reine Internet-Bank ist. Zugegebener Maßenwar der Grund der Handel mit Crypto-Währung, als auch die Tatsache das die Bank bereits Apple-Pay anbot, als es in Deutschland noch keine Andere tat. 

(Offtopic bemerkt: Bin ich außerdem ein großer Science-Fiction Fan… und bei sämtlichen Filmstreifen hat noch keiner mit irgendeinem bemalten Zettel, oder irgendwelche bedruckten Münzen, die sie vorher in einer Wechsel-Stube gegen andere bemalte Zettel wechseln mussten…. Ja ich weiß, das ist jetzt weniger ein hilfreicher Aspekt .. J)

Ich selbst bin in der IT der Finanzbranche tätig und kenne von berufswegen die technischen Prozesse, Anforderungen und Sicherheitsbedürfnisse, die hinter dieser Möglichkeit stehen.

Zum Bargeld stelle ich mir oft die Frage, „welche“ Unabhängigkeit mir Bargeld bringt? Die permanent lästige, ausgebeulte Gesäßtasche und die Tatsache das mich das Mitschleppen des Portemonnaies kolossal nervt, tun sein Übriges. 

Ich bin der Meinung, dass die angesprochene Unabhängigkeit fehlinterpretiert ist und eigentlich die Anonymität gemeint und gewollt ist, – denn wem bringt es denn wirklich einen Vorteil, dass man Papier und Metall in der Hosentasche mitschleppt. Geht es nicht eigentlich darum, die Fähigkeit zu haben, zu bezahlen und „niemand“ weiß das ich jemandem Geld gegeben, oder empfangen habe? Und die Frage die sich dann stellt: „warum“ will ich denn, dass dies keiner weiß? Mir fällt da nur etwas ein, was auch gleichermaßen nicht legal ist…

Das soll aber keine Unterstellung sein! Ich bin mir sicher, dass jeder seine eigenen Gründe hat, warum er es will, oder nicht möchte. Das muss jeder für sich entscheiden.

Ich bin mir allerdings auch zu 100% sicher, dass es auf Dauer nicht zu verhindern ist, dass das Bargeld verschwinden wird… Zumindest in der jetzigen Form, in der es heute existiert. Das lehrt uns auch die Geschichte, des Bargeldes… Das wird sicherlich nicht in den nächsten 10 Jahren geschehen, aber bestimmt noch in den nächsten 20 Jahren..

… denn was ist denn eigentlich Bargeld? Eine recht banale Frage, denn natürlich weiß jedes Kind, was Bargeld ist. Ich habe oben in der Überschrift auch FIAT Währung erwähnt… nun, das ist eigentlich genau das Gleiche. Alle unsere heutigen von Regierungen unterstützten Währungen werden als FIAT-Geld bezeichnet. Das besondere an FIAT Geld ist aber, das es eigentlich keinen nennenswerten Wert besitzt!

Trotzdem, Geld ist eines der am meist geliebten Dinge. Ich glaube auch das es vielen Menschen Sicherheit gibt, irgendeinen Schein in der Hand (oder im Strumpf zuhause) zu haben. … Der Sicherheits-Groschen…! Mit meinem Geld kann ich überall hingehen und miretwas kaufen – wenn mal der Strom ausfällt, hat mal jemand zu mir gesagt… auf Dauer sicher auch ein Trugschluss! Denn dann nimmt auch keiner mehr Bargeld an! In heutigen Zeiten kann man dann eher mit Klopapier zahlen! 😉

Geld gibt also eine Unabhängigkeit (und wie bereits genannt – Anonymität) – je mehr man davon hat, um so unabhängiger wird man… zumindest finanziell. Aber was genau ist eigentlich Bargeld?

In der Zeit bevor es Geld gab, tauschten die Menschen Dinge. OK, ist schon echt lange her… Wertige Dinge wurden gegen andere (meist) gleichwertige Dinge getauscht. Beispiel: Ich tausche eine Kuh, gegen drei Schafe… Das konnte auf Dauer etwas kompliziert werden, weil die Dinge eben nicht immer sehr handlich waren und je nachdem was man eintauschen wollte mit einem hohen logistischen Aufwand verbunden. Man brauchte also etwas, was einen Wert besitzt, aber auch handhabbar ist – etwas was man auch in großen Mengen mittragen kann und vor allem, es musste möglichst Fälschungssicher sein, denn sonst könnte ja jeder sein Geld selbst herstellen. Nun ja, die Herkunft möchte und kann ich hier jetzt gar nicht so genau erklären – das kann man viel besser auf der Wikipedia-Seite (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiatgeld) nachlesen. 

Worauf ich in diesem kurzen Blog hinaus möchte ist, einmal darüber nachzudenken, was man eigentlich in der Hand hat, wenn jemand mir einen 100€ Schein gibt… Also genaugenommen erst einmal nur ein Stück Papier! Ein schön bemaltes Stück Papier, mit einem Versprechen… Dem Versprechen, das das Stück Papier soviel wert ist, wie es draufsteht, dass ich mir einige Dinge davon kaufen kann…z.B. eine neue Armbanduhr.

Und wer gibt mir nun dieses besagte Versprechen? Richtig, die Regierungen – nicht die Banken, wie viele glauben… Die ganzen Staatsverschuldungen und Rettungsschirme – wer glaubt denn im Ernst das da jemand irgendwem, irgendwas in die Hand drückt? Das sind alles Versprechen… Und sonst nichts – kein Wert, kein Gegenstand – eine Zahl – und da macht man sich nicht mal die Mühe das auf ein Papier zu malen. (eigentlich noch viel perverser). Zurück zum Thema: Wie lange gibt mir nun die Regierung das Versprechen? Denn, auf so einem Schein steht ja nun kein Verfallsdatum, oder richterlicher Beschluss, wie lange das Stück Papier der gleiche Gegenwert ist, wie z.B. eine neue Armbanduhr. 

Also… Solange, bis sie sagen es ist nichts mehr wert. Danach ist es nur noch soviel wert, wie der Sachwert des Papiers. also nix! Die Scheine im Strumpf zuhause – der Not-Groschen, taugt nun nicht mehr um Feuer zu machen.

Macht Euch darüber mal Gedanken. Wie wichtig ist Euch das Bargeld?

Im nächsten Blog werde ich mal darüber philosophieren, was die Alternative dazu ist und was eventuell passieren wird, wenn tatsächlich das Bargeld mal verschwindet – der der Wille „unerkannt“ zu bleiben wird ganz sicher nicht verschwinden 😉
